● Characteristics and scope of application:

M50 is the world's most widely used high temperature bearing steel, M50 bearing steel in addition to the characteristics of general bearings, but also has a high temperature dimensional stability, high temperature hardness, high temperature contact fatigue performance, can be used for a long time at a working temperature below 315℃. M50 bearing steel is mainly used for aircraft engine bearings and other high temperature bearing.

Carbon C: 0.75 ~ 0.85

Silicon Si: ≤0.35

Manganese Mn: ≤0.35

Sulfur S: ≤0.020

P: ≤0.027

Chromium Cr: 3.75 ~ 4.25

Nickel Ni: ≤0.20

Vanadium V: 0.90 ~ 1.10

● Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure:

Heat treatment specification: 1110±5℃ hold for 15 ~ 20min, quench; Preheat 860℃ and temper 530℃ for 3 times, 2h each time.

Metallographic structure: tempered martensite.

Delivery condition: Hot rolled or forged steel is delivered in hot rolled (forged) or annealed condition. Cold-drawn steel delivered in annealed condition.
